Take the Cookie Rookie Pledge
Baking holiday cookies is a fun and delicious way to celebrate the holiday season, but remember: Regardless of how good it tastes, eating raw cooking dough puts you at risk for food poisoning. The raw eggs most cookie dough contains can host bacteria that may cause food poisoning, and young children and the elderly are more susceptible.
Keep you and your family safe this holiday season and take the “Cookie Rookie Pledge” before tying your apron strings. Pledge to:
- Wash your hands before cooking, baking and eating.
- Steer clear of licking spoons, bowls and beaters.
- Wait until cookies are fully baked before digging in.
