One of the easiest places to pick up the flu bug is a restaurant. Think about it: how many unwashed hands have handled the plastic coated menu before you just picked it up? Do you really think that the quick swipe with a wet cloth by the waitress did anything about the bacteria and viruses living on the surface? Keep your hands away from your eyes, mouth and face because it gets scarier. What about the condiment bottles? Or the salt and pepper shakers?
This scenario alone is one good reason to carry hand sanitizer with you at all times. Don’t be bashful about washing your hands before your meal comes or handling the ketchup bottle or pepper shaker with a napkin. And don’t forget about using a paper towel to turn off the faucet or grab the door knob to leave the rest room. Don’t let your guard down because the flu is lurking around every corner.
